  • About Titan Panel [NameToggle]
  •

This plugin displays in a tooltip the current Names Interface settings for Friendly Players, Guilds, Titles, Friendly Pets & Minions, Friendly Creations, Companions, and NPCs. It also allows you to toggle those settings on and off from the Titan Panel with no more than a few mouse clicks. I use it to turn off these settings when entering an instance without going to the Interface page.

NameToggle v 1.0 and 2.0 was written by Blueforge, but he has stopped supporting it. I resurrected it and updated it for WoW version 2.3 (and now 2.4) and Titan Panel version 3.2. I also added localization for German, French, and Spanish to match the localization of Titan Panel. My German translation has been reviewed and updated by Sensity. The French translation was updated by oXid_FoX. I'm still looking for help with the Spanish; PM me if you can help.

  • Ellanon, NPC Names DOES include beasts and critters. I don't do battlegrounds, but I believe the answer to your 2nd question is yes.

    I use it to remove as much screen clutter as possible in instances where there is little room and many mobs.

    An odd question here - does NPC names include everything non-player, or just the interactive characters in cities and whatnot? Does it include beasts and critters for instance? What I am getting at is, could I turn off everything except player names - this way, if I see a red name off in the distance, I will know right away that it is a player on the other team?

  • Thanks so very much for your help here. I've been using Google Translate, knowing that it's not that accurate. I'll update and release a new version, crediting you of course.

    The 2.4 version will have more categories to toggle. Would you mind correcting my French for that also? If so, PM me. And thanks again.

    EDIT: The new version has been released.

    the french localization is quite strange.... "handicaped" means "desactivated" ???

    -- FRENCH LOCALIZATION BY (oXid_FoX)

    if ( GetLocale() == "frFR" ) then
    TOOLTIPTEXT_LINE1 = "Nom des Joueurs : ";
    TOOLTIPTEXT_LINE2 = "Guilde des Joueurs : ";
    TOOLTIPTEXT_LINE3 = "Titre des Joueurs : ";
    TOOLTIPTEXT_LINE4 = "Nom des PNJ : ";
    TOOLTIPTEXT_HINT1 = "Clic-gauche-glissez : d\195\169place le plugin.";
    TOOLTIPTEXT_HINT2 = "Maj-clic-gauche : changer l'affichage des Joueurs.";
    TOOLTIPTEXT_HINT3 = "Clic-droit : changer l'affichage des PNJ.";
    TOOLTIPTEXT_GREENTEXT = "Activ\195\169";
    TOOLTIPTEXT_REDTEXT = "D\195\169sactiv\195\169";

    end

  • Thanks, Dixon. But actually, the last version used a left-click for names, guild, and titles. I had to change it because left-click is used to switch plugins now. And since more friendly categories were added in 2.4, I went with Ctrl-left-click for those.

    Nevertheless, if your solutions works for you, go for it.
