  1. !html

This mod is no longer supported due to the Blizzards Guild bank + Armory

GuildToolS is a combination of tools for guild use.
Now fully compatible with Guild Bank Manager http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-2904-1-wow-guild-bank-manager.html .
***IMPORTANT: read patch notes before updating from 2.x to 3.0***
Contains several parts:
GTS_Core - this is the main part of the addon that contains all the standard functions for GTS package.
GTS_BankScan (BS) - allows to scan characters possessions (including personal possessions and content of the bank) and parse it for the web site. Consists of 2 parts: WoW addon part and executable application for data parsing.
GTS_IncomingMail (IM) - Keeps track of every received item in local database, also gives capability to parse that data for web site. Consists of 2 parts: WoW addon part and executable aplication for data parsing.
GTS_OutgoingMail (OM) - Keeps track of every sent item in local database, also gives capability to parse that data for web site. Consists of 2 parts: WoW addon part and executable aplication for data parsing.
GTS_GuildRosterScan (GRS) ? Scans the guild roster including character name, class, level, rank, professions*, main-alt relations*.
* - only if GTS specific guild note is filled out by player.
As of version 3.0 GTS is fully compatible with GuildBankManager (GBM) by Marshall "Silverwings" Radziwilko. A PHP application to manage guild bank items online, GBM Enables the user to show guild items in Bank, Incoming Mail, Outgoing Mail and more...
Even though GTS can be used as a stand-alone solution, I highly encourage you to use GBM, it simplifies upload and enhances the output by adding search, sorting and more.
Note that I have not participated in creation of GBM and will not be able to help you with any questions and/or concerns you have about this application. All questions about GBM should be directed to GBM?s author, Marshall "Silverwings" Radziwilko.

** ImagePack are the images extracted from Blizzard's art. They are not required. You can get them elsewhere or use your own images, just follow the Blizzard naming convention. Images are property of Blizzard.
** The parser application is an executive and as such caries a risk of containing a virus, it is up to you to check files for viruses. Source code of the parser is included so you can compile it on your own.

Folowing guide is updated for 3.0 version.
Uploading instructions: http://thenyx.org/2006/03/13/guide-gnomebankers-guide-to-guildtools/ this guide was written by Khallah and helps you to set up automated upload of bank.html to your guild's web site.
Thanks

FAQ:

Q:
I cannot see the tooltips on the page. What did I do wrong?
A:
If you copied the text from the generated html file make sure you copied it all. Most likely you are missing java script at the top of the html file.

Q:
I just look at the generated html file and still can't see the tooltip, other people say they can see it.
A:
There is a setting in browser that disables Active content. Tooltip is actually active content, so if it is disabled you will not be able to see the tooltip.

Q:
I ran the script, but when I try to run GTS.exe it says that data was not found in SavedVariables.
A:
Make sure you follow all the steps:
- Run WoW and run /gts bscan with bank window opened. You should get message like: "Scan was successful ... run .exe" (or follow steps in part 3 for other parts of addon).
- Exit WoW, or at least log out from current character.
- Copy GTS_Core.lua from WoW/WTF/[AcountName]/SavedVariables/ to the addon folder (WoW/Interface/AddOns/GTS_Core/SV/)
- Run GTS.exe.

Q:
I have a batch file for textbank parser, but it does not work, if I place it in command line it works fine though, here it is:
GBM.exe -textbank INSERT INTO items (`name`) VALUES ( %n );
A:
% is a special character in batch files and you need to escape it, so write %% instead of %. In your example it should look like:
GBM.exe -textbank INSERT INTO items (`name`) VALUES ( %%n );

*** Known bugs: ***

If you encounter any bugs or notice some typos, please post them here and I will do my best to fix them. Also suggestions and requests are welcome here aswell.

- Guild Roster web page might not display images correctly for non-english clients. To fix this: go to the GTS_Core/html/images/ folder and change the names of class icon images to the names of the classes in language of the client. (for example for french client you will need to change warlock.gif to demoniste.gif)

Aw, I use this for a NON GUILDED character. Blizzard's bank system is inadequate for the contents of a large guild's banking, and way too expensive to buy all the tabs if we are trying to be frugal. So, thus the need for this type of system. I've been using Guild Roster for some time, but there has been some bugs with the most recent version and I enjoyed the simplicity of this product for what it does.

I know nothing of mods, or I would try to keep it updated, so far it still works.

what web interface for the new guild bank?

  • Nov. 19, 2007, 04:03PM (9 months ago)

Well, it is officially the end of GuildToolS.
Today blizzard has announced their web-view of guld bank and I see absolutelly no reason to modify GTS, since Armory can do all of that now and even better.
It's been fun making and updating GTS, but all good things must come to an end.
And it's not like I did not expect it. I pretty much stopped working on GTS as soon as Blizz has announced their Guild banks and Armory. At that point it was already clear that GTS will be rendered useless as sson as the above was implemented.

If anyone wants to use this mod/code for something - go ahead.
    Regards,

  • Sept. 21, 2007, 02:20PM (11 months ago)

Hi. This looks to be a great addon and it's ideal for my needs, which is to take the bank data and have it produce a textfile that I can upload into Excel for various functions. Unfortunately I can't seem to get GTS to produce any valid texfile. The data is being read correctly because the HTML file is being generated if I choose that option, so I think I'm not understanding the paramaters to be parsed by the GTS executable. I've been typing:

    gts -textbank "( n , a )"

Which will go through the process of producing a bank.dat file. But all it contains is a single line for each bank item saying "( n , a )" instead of replacing the variables with the item name and quantity.

The example command string in the help shows "TextBankParser insert into Table values ( n , a )" but this isn't a valid command line since there is no executable or batch file called TextBankParser. Could you provide a simple command line example that will produce the text file please?

    Many thanks

I seem to be missing the Storms card from the image pack, and the Missing Images 2.0 doesn't seem to have it either. Is there another place I can get the missing images from?

  • Sept. 17, 2007, 02:30PM (11 months, 1 week ago)

oh, rather simple, it should be lowercase :P ('-help' not '-HELP') I know it's screwed up, but that code is going away in 4.0, so I don't really feel like fixing it :)

  • Sept. 16, 2007, 08:46PM (11 months, 1 week ago)

I am trying to run GTS.exe with flags to attempt to change the information of where it links the images to, as talked about in a previous post, I can get as far as running GTS.exe -bankscan -help but it tells me "Not a valid command. See '-help' for a list of valid commands" ... okay... so I run GTS.exe -help... same error! I'm at a loss... I took a screen shot of the command prompt when I was trying and host it here (www.robertsheriff.com/wtf.gif) Maybe I'm just forgetting something... please help

  • Sept. 11, 2007, 06:59PM (11 months, 1 week ago)

No, at the moment there isn't. You could use a -php flag to generate inside of the body only though.

Or you could try 4.0 beta, it has none of these problems since it is xml based :)

Is there a flag or option, to generate a black background instead of white, in the html document?

  • Sept. 10, 2007, 02:04PM (11 months, 2 weeks ago)

there are flags for the executable to change that. To see the list of flags and what they do rung GuildTools.exe -bankscan -help. The flag you are interested in is -if

I am able to generate the bank .html code, but I need the generated code to point to another location for the icon pics. How do I change how the code to generated to point to my online server? Do I need to do something with the BankParser.c file, if so what? Thanks for any assistance.

    Hello GTS users.

I just thought I would bring the following to your attention:

    "[Update 30/08]

This is still under development, but currently the plans are as follows: The Guild Master will have full control over the guild bank. He, or she, will be able to give permission to others to also have control over areas of the guild bank. It will be possible to setup an area of the bank that everyone in the guild can donate to, but only restricted players could withdraw from. For example an area of the bank could be configured for herb donations and anyone in the guild could hand in herbs, but only the guild alchemists would be able to withdraw them. This system should extend to currency too whereby different ranks within the guild would have access to different parts of the bank.

The guild bank will also have an online logging system on the website so that guilds will be able to track all the comings and goings from their bank."

That has been posted on Euro WoW forums.

In light of this I'm strongly considering suspending any further development of GTS, at least untill Guild Bank system is releised. I still want to finish and releise 4.0 though.

I haven't had much luck with this, but I'll keep playing with it and if I find anything that seems conclusive, or hit a wall I'll post here to try to let you know.

    wirehead:

I do not think it is size related. More like some unexpected data shows up in SV.lua. You can try this: save a copy of SV.lua that crashes upload and try removing data from it one half at a time to see which line it crashes on exactelly. Be sure not to remove any tree stracture, but just data entries.

  • Aug. 7, 2007, 03:20PM (1 year ago)

Eh. After putzing around with this for a bit, the crash doesn't seem related to running any particular command. It got halfway through an upload once... not sure what's causing it.

Is it possible the data saved in GTS_Core.lua is too much? It's up to about 410k.

I know you've moved on to a different dev environment, and also that this addon probably isn't very high-priority right now with the coming built-in guild bank system, but do you have any off-the-cuff thoughts about what the problem might be?

  • July 31, 2007, 02:06PM (1 year ago)

Sorry guys, won't be able to help you out with GTS.exe at this point. I'm switching to python from C++ in 4.0 for multiple resons and have already killed my dev environment for C++ version :(

you can try 4.0beta, see if it works out for you. beta does not have all the functionality yet though, however it can create .xml files, which are better then formated text :-P

  • July 31, 2007, 12:38PM (1 year ago)

I had that error yesterday when trying to get the imail thing sorted out, using the text export part. Gave up in the end.

  • July 30, 2007, 06:33PM (1 year ago)

Since the last patch I've been having a problem with GTS crashing when I try to upload data to the webserver. Nothing specific in the error message, just "GTS.exe has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution..." etc.

I tried reinstalling the addon with a fresh download and didn't have any luck. Is anyone else having this problem? I haven't been able to update the bank inventory in weeks. : /
